Why it is important to spend time with your family

Family, these days that word carries a different meaning than it used to have. Family is a group that we identify ourselves with, spend time with and care about. Families come in all shapes and sizes. No matter how big, small, weird, boring, or crazy you think your family is, it is important to spend time with your family. In our families, we learn the difference between right and wrong. We learn how to interact with people. Our families teach us about sacrifice and giving selflessly. The lessons we learn with our families are the lessons that really matter. “Simple” sounding words like obedience, respect, responsibility, accountability are, or should be, taught to us in our family units. Sadly, many times these days, people forget why it is important to spend time with family. They decide to let these lessons come from friends, teachers, counselors, school staff, coaches, etc. The most essential relationships we have in our lives are with our families.
